I'm gonna let my '76 go

I'm gonna let my '76 go
I was laid off from work. I NEVER thought this would happen to me. So, to raise extra funds I started selling some little things: part of my record collection, some guitars, some old school video games.
I'm starting to run outta stuff to sell, so that leaves me to sell my truck.
It is a 76 F150 Explorer Supercab.
It breaks my heart but I don't have funds or time to fix it the way I'd like to right now. And instead of having it rust away to nothing, I'd rather see someone put it to use.
I had a Craigslist ad up, but I got a crazzzzy amount of emails about the truck, I couldn't keep up so I took the ad down. Someone is coming this Friday to take a look at it.
I still can't believe I got laid off. I feel useless.

I'm so bummed. My dad bought the truck new and gave it to me years ago. It slowly got more and more tired so for the last two or three years it's been our farm truck.
I love this thing even though NOTHING works on it. I learned how to drive on it, took family vacations with it, hunting and fishing trips, cut firewood with it. It was even the daily driver when I was a kid. I drove it daily myself for a couple years.
Wish it wasn't in such tired shape. Then it wouldn't be this easy to let go of.
However- family is more important than a truck!
Ya gotta do what ya gotta do!
I can always buy another truck someday.

That's a rough one man.
Sorry for the troubles.
I will tell you you are not alone. More than a few of us have been through stuff like this.
There was a time after my first divorce (of 2) that I was absolutely penniless. It WILL get better.
Just keep your head down and roll the stone.
Best of luck to you.
You're not useless. Stuff happens. We just have to power through it.
Exactly

I got retired Sept 3 2012, due to a stroke, I'm 53 with the heart and lungs of a 83 year old. I knew for 11.5 years that Sept 3 would come in one form or another, just didn't know the day or how.
Every day the sun comes up is a good day, it's what you make of it that counts.
Turn off that T.V. and don't even look at it, all it does is stop you from doing constructive things.
If you can't find a job, make one. I did and I've worked all my life.
Find something constructive to do around the house or for your neighbours. I put in 4 - 6 hours on either my projects or I'm doing volunteer work in my area. It keeps you active and allows you to make contacts, you'd be amazed how much paid work I get.
Your not useless, you've been given an opportunity to find a new way of living life. Find that opportunity and take it.
Good luck on your future and make the most of it, I did and I feel great about it.
