F350 MPG During Break In?

What was your MPG during break in? What are you getting now?

I only saw a 15.8 during a 2 1/2 hr highway trip from the dealer to my house, while my F250 always gave me 21.5 MPG on the highway.

I don't remember what my F250 6.7 gave me when brand new and am wondering if this is normal. I thought that the trucks weighed very close to the same, so mileage should be just about the same.

Truck is F350 SRW 3.55 which is the same as my F250

F350 what? SRW, Dually?

my 2012 F250 (3.11) gave me a calculated average of around 15.5, over 13,000miles, highest I ever saw was 17.8
my 2012 F350 dually (3.73) gets about 13.5, over 14,000 miles mostly highway, highest 16.7

Fuel economy has been about the same on my truck since mile one up to the addition of my edge tuner at about 175K, up a little since then.

Anyone know/remember if their MPG were less during break in compared to what you get now?

I never saw a difference on either of my trucks (2011 and 2014). I don't think there's a "traditional" break-in anymore other than the fact they ask that you put 500 miles on before towing heavy.

I've got 12,000km on my truck in just over a month and thus far I figure I'm averaging 15.5-16 MPG. I'm VERY happy with this considering my '13 F150 EB averaged 16-16.5 MPG driving the same roads and speeds.

I didn't notice much of a difference if any during break in.

Why don't I ever get one of these special trucks. Mine has never seen anything north of 18.0. I use cruise control all the time on the highway.

I work with someone where every truck he has ever owned gets spectacular mileage. He has a magical eco-boost that gets 30+ mpg all the time and he drives the hell out of it.

Sounds to me like he gets a little creative with the #'s when he calculates the MPG. No one is that lucky!! haha

2011 via. 2015 F350 SRW trucks only difference is that the 2015 has 20" tires.

Since day one always getting less MPG in the 2015. 15.5 coming home from the dealer vs. the 18 I would get in the 2011.

Having some issues now and my mileage has dropped to an average of 12.7, but is picking back up a bit. Someone else on the forum I'd having the same lower MPG issues as I am. (Dim sum) so I am not holding out hope it will improve. It is what it is - a big truck with a big 440 HP motor. Btw, I did get 23 mpg once in my 2011. It was going 50 mpg coming out if Chicago where contraction slowed us down to a consistent 50 mph for a few hundred miles... And we had a tailwind to boot... Usually I saw 17-18... Something I have not seen in the 2015 with almost 2.5k miles on it.

I noticed at around 40k miles my truck regens less so therefore my avg. fuel economy has gone up ~.5 mpg.
