I've got a thread going in the Super Duty forum regarding beefing up my rear suspension to handle our truck camper. I am leary of air bags due to what the local shops say about them here in Kitchener-Waterloo.

1. Does anyone have airbags out there?
2. How long have you had them?
3. Are you happy with them?
4. Any problems?
5. How do they stand up to our winters and salt blasted roads?
6. Who installed them for you and would you recommend them?

I was considering the same thing so I'm interested in any response.
The obvious benefit is the adjustability to match the load. More leaf springs or even helper springs don't give you the level of flexibility of the airbags.
I imagine that the quality has to be greatly improved over what it was 5-10 years ago.
Back in the day, ( a very long time ago) I put air shocks in Dad's Oldsmobile. I could jack up the back to clear wide tires and then return it to stock stance and tires when I was done having fun. The car would look the same when I brought it home but for some reason it would be just about out of gas.

While I never had an issue with the shocks the air lines were constantly developing leaks at the fittings. If I was to use air bags now I'd make sure the lines where top quality along with quality fitting.
