I have a 60 PSI boost gauge, but no pix yet. My boost just gets up to 34-35 PSI, but I installed a switch give it double-duty as a fuel pressure gauge. ISSPRO EV2 from Riffraff Diesel. What would you like to know?

What size injectors you guys are running, what turbos, if you went to a second turbo, had to do headgaskets. I have done a fuel pump upgrade, 1.5 injectors, dp tuner, and the mandatory bolt ons. I want to do a T4 and go from there. Do I have enough injector to run a T4, what boost could I get from a smaller turbo, will I lift the heads?

Heads don't lift easily on a 7.3L, but I don't know those limits. The valve springs are the real worry. If one opens from excessive pressure and the piston comes to the top with it open - "open" is exactly what can happen: You can open a window on the block. I don't know if the "1.5s" (160/30 or /80?) can get you there, no matter what turbo. I have 160/100s and a GTP38R without sooting problems. If I tweaked it and ran my race tune, I might sneak up on 40 PSI boost - but I don't want the expense of pushing the truck that hard.

Gaugepro is our resident expert on learning the limits of the truck and what hardware puts you on the guardrail - or over it.

I was debating going to a 60 gauge but I doubt I will get that high. I need to replace my turbo but want to go to a 1.0 housing. Have had a van turbo waiting to go in but kind of afraid of going to big with the 1.15 and having lag and smoking out the street before it spools.

"Inside the guardrail" - staying within norms or safe limits.'
"On the guardrail" - pressing the limits.
"Over the guardrail" - you broke it.

Yeah, I broke it a few times. But I swear it was like that when I got there.. Compressor wheel, transmission, and for some odd reason the rear calipers caught on fire. Darnedest thing.
