Testing a Power Seat Motor

I need to pick up a new power seat motor/Assembly. I have a local pick-n-pull that has about a dozen late 90's early 2000's Expeditions. I was wondering if there was a way to test these motors at the junkyard before paying for them? A 12v drill battery maybe? Any ideas?

That or a jump pack if you have one.
