2000 F250 V10 starting issues

My 2000 F250 with the V10 is having some seemingly random starting issues. Truck is cranking hard, so I am fairly sure it is not a battery issue (battery is only two years old). There are times when it will just crank and start after a minute or two of trying. Truck seems to run perfectly after it starts. What should I be checking? Can the fuel pump randomly not work and then work again because I twice it has started only to stop almost immediately and then start again a minute or two later. Some sort of electrical issue I need to look at? Would prefer to try and repair this myself rather than spend a fortune on a mechanic to diagnose.

Here are two suggestions;
1-Change your fuel filter (if it is not already replaced during the last 30K miles),
2- Buy a "fuel pressure gauge" and see if you have approx. 30-35 psi fuel pressure at the fuel rail while cranking, when it fails to start ( fuel pump ? )
good luck,
