Found various scout parts on CL, but a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I put a good battery on the charger last night to stick in the rusty landcruiser wagon, I haven't started it in 2 years. It's in the back woods. Problem is battery weighs more than my 6 lb limit, so I'm waiting for my son to show up tomorrow and fire it up and park it near the shop for when I start feeling stronger. That way I can do some easy tests and measurements to the running gear.

I only ever saw the one but a dealership in Newcastle Wyoming had a 53-56 style F350, 9 foot stepside with what looked like factory duals and wider fenders to cover them.
And, yeah, I will be looking for a deralict donor scout now. Which side is the front punkin offset to?

I will look at mine tomorrow. But isn't your's a tonner? They need a wider axle than the 1/2 tons. My '47 tonner rear axle that's the back half of a tonner pickup has 52 1/2 " between the tires. It almost seems like modern truck width axles are what you want for a tonner. I still could be wrong. Tomorrow I will measure the width outside the tires of my '47 tonner trailer. Maybe wheel offsets will make all the difference. Looks like you currently have '48-'52 f2 of f3 axles under it right now. Maybe with WMs? The dually pickup thing is a fairly complex subject. For years there have been 2 types of dually axles. Dually pickup axles and dually cab and chassis axles. The dually pickup axle is quite a bit wider than the one that comes under the numerous flatbeds, service trucks, wreckers and box trucks we follow every day. That's why dually pickups look so wide. They are. My '59 was purposely built with a dually pickup rear axle because only they have the clearance to carry a 4x8 sheet of plywood or a camper between the wheel wells. I could have used a cab/chassis rear, but I would have had to tub the wells in the box. If I wasn't a cabinetmaker (with a vintage Alaskan Camper) I might have done that and then used the fiberglass hot rod rear fenders that are widened by 4". That would have made a nice looking '53-'66 tonner with the 9' flareside box. I'm glad I can haul plywood in the '59. 40 sheets of 3/4 maple and it still sits level and finally rides nicely!
