A 2002 Excursion 4x4 Limited 7.3 with 169k miles for $9000? This is easy, if the frame isn't rusted through and about to break in half, BUY IT! A stock version of this identical vehicle with 172k miles just sold at wholesale (dealer) auction the other day for $17,200 plus buyers fees.

 

I would also check the airbox- open the airbox and see if you can see dust trails where it is getting past the filter. Some leak a lot. Also run your hand around the intake boot going to the turbo. My buddy bought a truck that had a boot that had split (couldn't be seen from the top) and had been leaking dirt in for quite a while...

i couldnt get to the dealer during the week as he was too far away and i finished work late. By the time weekend rolled around it was already sold .

One of my buddies just mentioned to me his uncle is thinking about selling his X. i actually test drove it and it pulled hard( bone stock with new HPOP). His uncle was a diesel mechanic and took care of it. it has around 330,000km and he wants around 10k. He said if he installs exhaust and tuner he'd be willing to let it go for 11500. I took a look and it didnt have much underbody rust. Next time ill look on the pinch welds and the bottom of the doors and hopefully work out.

 

Check kijiji and lespac for Excursions in Quebec. I know there's an extra inspection fee for bringing a vehicle from another province and your ON emissions testing that we don't have... but the X's here are cheap and depending on distance I'm willing to go check them out for you. I look for cheap Excursions in both ON and QC on a daily basis and I can guarantee you'll find cheaper over here... as long as you're willing to drive our mafia paved roads
