6-speed to auto swap?

I have an old friend that has a 02 350, loves the truck, but it's getting hard for him to run the clutch, we done a bunch of upgrades already I think it would be easier and cheaper to swap trans than to start over with a new truck. I've done swaps before on older stuff the other way auto to manual.
Is there anything that could hang me up? plan is to find a parts truck.

I think it's easier to go from stick to auto than the other way around, and there's been plenty here who have gone the other way around.

I have a auto with a shift kit and would love a manual. I would be willing to swap.

Auto will flat out tow a manual once built properly. Would never own a ZF truck.

That being said, your best bet will be to find a complete donor rig for the swap. You will need the PCM, Wire harness, Some parts of the dash, steering column, trans and a few other parts and pieces...

well if either of you guys are near north eastern Colorado we might be able to work something out. I need a crew cab long box 4x4, to make everything work.
But lets not get too carried away yet, my friend went cruising the car lots today, he has a 06 v-10 to trade off, and one lot has the auto twin to is 02, I'll talk to him more tonight.

How so? Built or not you've still got to deal with inefficiencies until the torque converter locks up. Next we can talk about backing up with a heavy load, up a hill, for a good distance.

Sure you can build an auto that won't puke it's fluid out all over the place, or you could just let the clutch out and go.

But our friendly OP has already decided he wants an auto, so no need trying to convince him. (but you might want to point out the costs and steps involved with the "built" part)

aftermarket tc and cooler should handle all my friends needs. I will agree that on the highway that an auto will get a load rolling better and handle more power better when built, as for breaking, trying to tow slow under 45, back up a load, or towing off road a manual will work better.
They all have pros and cons that is why I kept my 88 an auto when I got rid of the c6 and why my 93 is a manual.
