How many Camshaft positioning sensors does my truck have

Hello I have a 03 F 150 with a 5.4 and I am going to replace my cam sensor but I can only find one on the drivers side in the front of the head. Is that the only one ? I have heard some trucks have one on each side

Thanks

Only one is needed. It is the fuel injection timing order reference for all the cylinders.
Why are you changing it?
Good luck.

Thank You Bluegrass
My truck shutters and cuts out real bad when accelerating and when you stop at a stoplight or slow down to turn it dies unless you give it gas. It also dosen't idol smooth and the CEL is not on . I read this guys thread as well as some others I cannot find right now lol , which has alot of the same symptoms and it seemed to fix his. And for 20.00 I thought it would be a good place to start. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ring-help.html

Thanks

Well your starting off on the wrong foot trying to use some one else's issue as a guide to guessing.
Are you sure there are no codes set by testing with a Scanner?
Missfire under acceleration can be low fuel pressure, plugged fuel filter, water in the gas etc. that may not set a code because there is no direct detection for these problems..
Best to look at live data with a Scanner to see what is out of normal limits.
The idle problem may or may not be part of the issue.
The IAC controls idle so if it is stuck closed, the idle will suffer.
So you need to chase the cause first before beginning to change parts.
Good luck.
