1955 COE Project
#16
Hi Like Minded....
Do you think a 1990's International 4700 (20k GVW with hydraulic brakes)series truck would be ok to have a 1955 C600 COE cab sit on top of? Front wheel track is 79 inches from center tread to center tread on front tires.... is this donor too wide to sit nicely between the fenders of the 55?? This donor truck is a low miles, low hours Inline DT360 6 cylinder diesel with Allison automatic....I dont have my 55 COE truck with me, it is still far away in Texas so Im still not sure how wide the front track really is...anyone know what the front stance(center of front tire tread across to other front tire center tread) is as stock from the factory on a 1955 C600???

From what I'm finding out on my 48 Coe I'm building you would have to change the offset of the wheels to make it work and even then it still may be too wide. On my F5 the out side of my fenders are 79 1/2 outside to outside. I didn't measure the original width of the front tires. I just remember that measurement when I went and picked it up. Hope that is of some help sorry I don't have more info for you.
