What is 5th wheel prep on a 2015 f350?

I am going to bite the big bullet and get me a new f350 I ordered the 5th wheel prep kit, the dealer knows very little about this and I know even less can anybody tell me what all comes with this package? I pull a 5th wheel and a gooseneck trailer with my 99, I have a gooseneck plate mounted under my 5th wheel hitch.

You will have all of the under bed hardware necessary to set the reese 5th wheel in the truck, or if you prefer, the B&W puck base, and just latch it down and go pull. Also the gooseneck ball just drops in and latches down. Pretty slick system

Confirmed. That is what I got on my truck.

Make sure when it comes in that the pucks that stick out of the bed (they are level with the surface) have plugs in them. Keeps them clean.

You will still have to order the 25K gooseneck ball and either the hitch from reese or ford.

I had them throw the hitch in as part of the deal when I bought mine.

You will also have as part of the prep kit a in bed plug. So nothing to do there either.

True plug and play.

My rubber plugs came in a plastic bag under the rear seat and I hadda put them in myself. The plugs just fill the hole but the rubber rings were a bear to get in place. It was all OK w/ me tho as I had the bedliner sprayed in before installing the rings. Wait till warm weather to install if you do it yourself. I have the B&W OEM hitch and think it's great (it's also my first 5th so what do I know?). Mine is a short bed and doing it over I would have gone with a sliding hitch. Rear window and cab damage was about $500. Still use the B&W, just a lot more cautious.

I ordered this so I could use my less than a year old Reese R16 hitch. It works very well

Here's what the factory 26.5k Reese Custom hitch looks like.

And when, looking at BigFoot's pictures, when the 5th is removed, lift out the large cap in the center of the bed, the goose ball just drops in and locks there. Very neat!

How to identify which 5th wheel Ford/Reese elite hitch do you have? It is fairly simple if you know what to look for on the hitch itself.

25K hitch only has 3 head height adjustment holes...14.5", 15.75" and 17"
18K hitch has 4 head height adjustment holes....14.5", 15.75", 17" and 18.25"

These are the holes the "legs" bolt to the center section

Here is my 18K one. I got this as my 5er comes in around 15-16K max. Plus this one is a one man carry.
