Re-assembling 400 after rebuild

Please excuse my dumb questions; this is the first time I've had a motor out of a truck & down to the long block. When putting on the intake, are there gaskets that go on both sides of the valley pan, or do you just seal one side with rtv? If so, should the gasket go between the intake & pan, or between pan & block?

No dumb questions!

Different schools of thought here, some people use the cork type gasket, some use just RTV. If you want to use the cork, I would use it between the block and valley pan with a little Ultra Black (more oil resistant) RTV on top of the cork and between the valley pan and intake.
