New 64 Exhaust options, hi everyone

Hello everyone. Yesterday I purchased I very cool 64 F100 here in the Bay Area. I sold my restored 62 ranchero a few weeks ago looking for something with manual and a V8. It's seems to be have been very well maintained and I drove it two hours home. It ran great and comes with a 292 and 3 speed on the tree which was so much fun coming down highway 17 in Santa Cruz.
I would like to keep the original 292 and do some upgrades along the way. First is exhaust. It had true duals which are older but sound ok but I want something much nastier. I have read the article about the y block exhaust test to end all but want some other opinions. I want the exhaust to sound mean and throaty but not overpowering when cruising on long rides. More hp and torque are also what I am looking for as I will soon also with replace the intake, carb and possibly cam. I need advice on headers and mufflers and where to purchase. Also being new to the ford truck scene where is the go to sites for performance parts for the 292, stock, as well ad New Old stock if possible. I also need some items like both side mirrors and a couple other parts. Thanks all I look forward to learning a lot from all of you.

I have the same engine and tranny setup in my 1964. I ordered some headers from summit racing (be advised that you may have to notch the cross members to make them fit) and painted them with some high-heat flat black paint and they look pretty decent on my otherwise dirty motor with new chrome valve covers and chrome air cleaner.. From the headers I have a little bit of pipe and at the back of the cab I have two flomaster super 44s welded on and then nothing after that cause I haven't gotten around to finishing out the back.. This setup sounds very mean and nasty when even at idlebut when your cruising it's really not that bad in the cab and I'm sure it'll be much better when it's finished (possibly with a H pipe?).. I'm just giving you a idea on a possibility but there is a possibility of some exhaust drone at certain RPMs and I couldn't tell you where cause I don't have a tach but I'd guess around 2200 rpm with my setup

I run Hooker Aerochamber mufflers and an X-pipe, 2/12" from the Red's stubby headers all the way to the tail pipe. I wouldn't say it is mean sounding but it is definitely not a "stock" sounding exhaust. Here, you can decide:
