reverse aid sensor wont stop

Ill help you if you help me....I have (had) the same issue when they get wet. Anything on the face of the sensors will effect them. Water/snow can get into the pin connector behind the bumper. Pull it apart. Blow out with compressed air. Spray WD40 in there and hook back up. Die-electric grease would work to Id think. You could also have a bad sensor. They hum if you put your ear close to them. The one not humming while its in reverse is the problem child.
I have an 11 (just got it) Traded in an 08 with the assist. Trying to install this option in the 11 with factory parts. Where is the annunciator located? In the door by the speaker or in the dash by your left knee? And how do you mute it. Do you mute it by using the steering wheel buttons and the info center in the dash? No body has been able to answer these Q for me. The factory exploded view isn't clear where to mount the brain box/annunciator and the owners manual says zero about how to mute. TX

Iaff113 is yours a 2011?
Mines a 2011 XLT. I was told the mute was activated using steering wheel control buttons for the dash information center. The picture looks like my 08s mute, which make more sense. TX for the pic!
If in fact yours is a 2011 where does the sound come from; the door or dash above left leg?
I have the brain box and annunciator(all one module). But don't know whether to rip off the door panel or left lower side of dash to find the wire connector and mounting location. Like to know before I commence exploratory surgery. The exploded view I have is very unclear.
The rest is just for who ever else reads this thread........So I likely have to take it to Stealership to have it flashed into the OBC? At least that's what the sticker says stuck to the new $160 module. It also says they need the old part to do the flash of the new part, broken or not. Well what happens if you didn't or don't have the old brain box like me as Im installing it in a truck that never had said option! OY...fun... not to mention I have to re-pin the bumper connector as the take off bumper I bought has the wrong shaped connector cavity. Ever try to find the right Molex connectors...fun fun. PITA.

Also make sure you don't wax or use a polish/Armor All on these. Clean with soap and water and wipe clean only.
