Titles
#16
With big. old unrestored trucks, I doubt very many were stolen. Usually they just got abandoned behind a farm, owners moved, people died over the years. Titles tossed out by new generations. Most people wouldn't want one even if it was given to them. But some of us lay awake at night while we are in the process of obtaining another one with the excitement of a kid on Christmas Eve. Come to think of it, my derelict '47 2 ton was delivered from N. Dakota on Dec 22 of last year......... Today it's the pride of my fleet! Hang in there, a title is in your future. It will happen.

It takes many years and many sour deals but here's the reality, when you make a deal, everything you are going to get is right there when the money changes hands. Never believe a title is forthcoming or that other door or cool set of valve covers, nothing, you got EVERYTHING you will get when he they got the money.

One time when California seems to be the easiest state. Here we if you buy a vehicle with no title all we need to do is get a "statement of facts" from the seller, then have it inspected by Highway Patrol, get weight certificate, if it's a truck and then bam, title and plates are issued. I've done it several times, very easy.
