still cant get rid of the p0420 code
Well i have had this code for a while now and i decided to order the OBII adapter for my phone. It scanned my 07 and it brought of a p0420. I clicked on the web lookup and it brought up
Ford:
Type - powertrain-auxiliry emissions controls-ISO/SAE controlled
Description- catalyst effeciency below treshold
Cause- engine running at steady state highway conditions for 5 minutes in closed loop, then the PCM detected that the rear HO2S switch rate was too high
So my question is. Does that mean my rear 02 sensor is bad?

could be. or maybe your converter has given up, and is no longer functioning as intended. IIRC some emission parts have a mandatory 8 or 10 year warranty imposed on manufacturers by the EPA to keep vehicles' emissions in check for a longer period of time then the manufacturers bumper to bumper stuff. might be worth looking into
