Blend Air Actuator

Blend Air Actuator
The arrival of colder temps here in SE Texas has revealed a problem with the wife 2011 F150. The temp control(dual zone) on the passenger side would not adjust the output temp of the pax side air vents. Regardless of temp setting, temp was consistent. A lot of folks have also heard clicking noise coming from behind the dash with this type of failure but I could not hear anything.
Bought the part from my local ford dealer...$13.00. Since the pax side actuator is the easiest to remove, I thought I would give it a shot. Once the radio stack is removed the actuator sits on top of the air plenum and is reachable through the radio stack opening. It has 2 bolts and an "L" shaped pin to register the actuator location. I also had to lower the glove box and access the back bolt with an 8mm wrench. Front bolt is easily removed. R/R the actuator and the system is operating normally. Straight forward job that took about 2 hours.
