Bought myself another 78 supercab.

Well I sold my 93 that I bought last spring about two months ago and started looking for another 78 supercab. There were no good supercabs in MN, ND, SD, WI, IA, or MI while I looked for a month that the owners didn't want gold for rust so I took a look at the WA craigslist and found this one in my first search. After about a month of talking back and forth with the last owners and trying to find a shipping company that would move a 78 supercab long box I finally got everything set up and picked it up two days ago. The farther east the driver would go was Fargo so I had to drive a 3 hours west to get it which was a fiasco because the truck driver broke his key off in the padlock which was one that can't be cut by bolt cutters so we were standing out in the cold and the ND wind (I don't know how you guys handle the wind) running extension cords from the semi to cut the lock off with a grinder... Anyways once the trailer is opened and the truck is unloaded I find out it's not just a plain old F250 but a F250 Ranger XLT Trailer Special so that was a pretty neat deal I'd say. Here are some pictures.

The exhaust system is something I haven't seen before. They solved the dual pipes and not having a jungle gym under the truck problem by running both pipes along the outside of the frame.

Nice Find!

That was a sweet find. Very straight truck. Enjoy the restoration. Thanks for sharing. I paid $800 to ship my 77 from MI to KS. I'll bet yours was a little more.

It cost $1100 to ship it. Both the pick up and drop off locations were way out of the way for most drivers it took several weeks for l to even find a driver.

That one I couldn't tell you. I assumed Washington is like Minnesota where the plate go with the vehicles instead of staying with the drivers for registration on the next vehicle.

I'll post more pictures soon, possibly tonight but it's deer season here currently so ill be out in the woods all day.

Nice truck, can you please take a pic of the exhaust pipe routing from the exhaust manifolds. Specificity how the routing is on the dvrs side, in front of the cross member.

My blue 78 F250 with a swapped in 460 had it just like yours, but it was stopped just aft of the back tire. They too were routed behind the front spring rear shackle and in front of the crossmember.

But when I put the 4" lift on I had to remove it from being that way because the lift spring shifted the shackles back to far. FYI keep that fact in mind if you plan on putting on a lift.
And I do not like the new exhaust route, I had to run it so the mufflers inside the frame.

A picture to show my exhaust guy what I am trying to explain would help.

These are going to be about the best I can get for exhaust pictures unless I can it over a pit. I'll get some of the interior soon too.

You can see where the pipes meet the manifolds in each of these.

Here's just how it's ran down the frame rails. The first ones I put up show how it is after the axles. I can get some more if needed.

Thanks, that is just what I was needing, no need for anything involving a pit. lol

Looks to have an add-a leaf in the middle of the normal 2 front leafs. What is you plans for it now, own it and enjoy it?

It's my daily driver for now. Once I finish my yellow 78 I'll get this one all cleaned up. For now though it's just drive it and keep up on the rust before it get's to far out of control.

Here's some interior pictures. What I'm wondering about it right now is if those speakers were a factory thing or not. The backs of them look like they match the angles pretty good. My other supercab had speakers mounted to the wall down between the lower cushion of the rear bench seat instead of up by the window.
