I pulled my HPOP this morning and looked at the STC, has it already been replaced by a previous owner? If so at least I have piece of mind it has been done.

 

Yes sir, that's the newer one piece branch tube connector.

 

Thank You! Oh boy, the fun of getting this thing back in. I did notice there is a bunch of Grey RTV on the block at the back, looks like too much, I have carefully scraped it off. How much is recommended and does the RTV go between the block and the gasket or gasket and cover plate? I know, stupid question.

 

Just a little dab of grey RTV on the parting line where the aluminum cover meets the back of the engine block before dropping the cover in place.
