Ad links popping up in posts.

I haven't seen this often (yet), but I've posted clean replies, and I'll see links to advertisements after I hit "Submit". Is this a thing where the site is scraping more money, or is this an invasion from another party?

I'm sure you know much more about computers than I , but I noticed this on my browser a while back and found an extension and a program under recently installed programs that I never installed. Don't know if it was installed with something else I did or what, but when I un-installed the program and the extension, the ads went away. Don't know if your experiencing the same thing as me or not, but I haven't seen the adds since.

Things being added that weren't installed by the user scare me. I haven't noticed yet but I run an ad blocker and don't post too much here but I will be on the lookout.

I have installed Chrome because of the instability of the forum with IE. I'll look at my post with IE and see if the ad is there. If not, then my shiny new Chrome is compromised. This is such a PITA.

Yup - Chrome is putting ad links in the text. I'll look at the settings, but I don't really like my browser putting crap in the stuff I read.

I have had some issues with this in the past , but none at the moment. Also running Chrome, and no adds in your ( Rich ) recent posts on my end at least.

I have this nasty habit of overdoing everything, so I installed Ad Block Super. It's probably just Ad Block Lite with a different moniker.

I went back and edited those posts, to get rid of the warning label for a problem that was on my end.

Thanks guys! Disaster averted. World saved.

I still can't see my quick post when I reply to a thread. Its like it disappeared. Sometimes when I go back later its there. Hate that because I don't know if its posted or not.

Does this happen if you use the "Post Reply" button to open the "deluxe" message box?

Deluxe box? Not sure what that is. I use the one on the bottom of the page that says Post Quick Reply Go Advanced. It never did this in all the years I've been on. I do think its time for a new computer. There goes my 38R.

Under my post here, to the left - there is a button that says "post reply".

Don't give up on your computer because of code errors on a forum. This site behaves differently something like once a week to every other day. Things are fickle here for many, including my shiny i7 - not just you.
