Yes , i'm waiting on the new bulbs and will try it in the housings first.

If you look at the photos i posted you will see the the new housings are flat on the backs so i might not have to cut the header panel.

I just heard the other day from my friends across the street that their son got a ticket for his recessed LED Projector lights because the local police said they were "BLINDING"

What you've got there I doubt we could get away with over here at all...

Greywolf , I'm not sure how I'm going to be as far as the law is concerned here , time will tell .
The reason I'm going to change them is because i have HID's fitted in the new style housings now and they are blinding to oncoming traffic, and also they don't through a good light spread.

SSSimon, no i haven't started the fit up yet I've had a few other projects that have taken priority, will be on the list next.

Yeah I'll fit them and give them the test if there blinding I'll pull them back out and fit LED's in the housings i have now.
Just the lighting on these trucks are crap!
You have to wonder why Ford would build such a nice truck and fit crappie lights in them.

I haven't yet come up with a headlight system that I want to take on the road in my "TEST VEHICLE" (1993 Suzuki Swift project) but I had some fog and driving lights on the Ranger before I went into it wholesale with the V8 swap.

I guess I annoyed someone around here locally because I found my road and fog set obviously kicked apart by someone twice after stopping at a local store. Pretty sure I know who the culprit is too, they drive a ragged piece of crap GM and one of them in it flipped me off one day even though I don't know them.

I still see a red haze in front of my eyes when I think about them... Two guys, one is an obvious drug derelict

I've been thinking recessed mounts so they can't be got at, and possibly a fabricated 'tunnel' for each to be mounted low and back from the bumper so that at close range they can't possibly interfere with anyone coming the other way.

Update - Projectors lights (hid's) are in place, i bridged a diode across from low beam to high beam so i don't get light drop out as you mentioned Simon.

This shows the diode from LB to HB

I haven't road tested the light spread yet as I'm still playing with the PVH solenoid.

The housing fit was really good, i had to trim the header panel on both sides, i'll show that in the next post.

Looks a good fit. I'll be very interested in the light output and aimability. That is mainly what is lacking in the '05 lights my truck is running.

I'm sure that if they're aimed correctly and you have a responsible set of HIDs in there then you should be right.

Police generally only target on people when this is a real problem. Personally I wish they'd chase more people driving vehicles with bad headlights. Half the drivers here seem to need their fog-lamps on no matter what the conditions. You just about need sun glasses to drive around here at night time!

Light test up-date,

This is the first set up , I'll leave them like this until i i check them out at night , but looks okay from here.

The fit of the light housings is quite good for the price and the build quality is good too.

Thanks for posting the results. The lighting pattern is surprising (not in a bad way) - most HID's have a "flat" beam, but it looks like these kick up on the passenger side like regular halogen setups.

When i first set up the lights i drove the wife's Hyundai Sonata in the workshop and set her lights on low ( stock projectors) and marked out the light pattern on the white paper (test wall) and the pattern is identical to her's , so i thought with the cut off being the same it was okay.
I have yet to drive in the dark yet, or test the lights on a good wall to see the pattern .
BigF350, the lights in your truck are projectors so, does the cut off run to the left side or right ?
