12.2 mpg

I'm new to diesel trucks and I've owned one for 2 months it's a 2007 f250 6.0 with 275's by Goodrich terra grapplers and 12.2 is the highest I've gotten at 65 mph. And I've seen people saying they get 15-19 mpg any help I would appreciate it

I had a similar experience - only got 12 - 13 mpg. Then one of my injectors was found to be bad. Replaced it and mpg immediately jumped up to 17-18.

Not to say you have a bad injector but worth running a diagnosis on the health of your motor.

Start with cheap simple stuff that will cause a drag. I assume you are calculating mileage by hand, not the onboard display.

If 4X4, make sure front hubs are not locked

Chock wheels, put in neutral, and jack up 1 tire at a time....check for rolling resistance. (could be sticking caliper)

I'll try that cause I'm gentle with the peddle

read everything in the read first posts in the 6.0 section. get a scan gage. enter the x code pids and know what they mean. drive the truck and see what you get. check for codes.

wish I had done that before I bought mine. Love my truck but it needs a lot of lovin' and care.

Might check in your state chapter to see if there is a member near you that might have an AutoEnginuty with the Ford enhanced bundle. He/she should be able to run a couple of diagnostic tests and check for codes.

Might cost you a cheap lunch or couple of cold beverages, but it's allot cheaper than the dealership. It was how I found my last two cracked injectors. As far as 12 mpg; I only get that kind of mileage when I'm dragging the 5th wheel at 70mph in the hills. You've got something going...too bad your 10-12 hours west of me.
