Radiator Options

I have a 65 f100 with the 240 six. I need to get a radiator for it and the only ones that I can find that are from LMC. for this model they are about $500. I have a radiator shop close to me but they are about the same price to repair mine. Just looking for options(cheaper). Some fabrication is not a problem.

Different radiator shop? 500 to repair a radiator seems awful high

Well, that little tube that you hookup the overflow hose to is about the only thing that's reuseable. and that was going up to a either 3 or 4 row core.

Well in that case either a new radiator or go to a junk yard and find a good one that needs little work. I think there are several years that will work not just 61 to 64 or 65 and 66. ND could say for sure

Give Performance Radiator (on the web) a call. I was able to find a 4 tube for a 460 from them.

1965 FORD Truck w/ V8
Here is an aluminum one for a V8. I'm sure they would have one for a 6

Thanks Guys, The wizard cooling was about $500.00 and they didn't have one for a six. The Performance Radiator site doesn't even have the Year 65 listed but the 66 radiator looked like a good price $320 for a 3 row and $244 for a 2 row. I'll just have to check the dimensions and see if they come close.

They didn't have a listing for my 460 either, but were able to find one for it. I think if you just contact them they can help. I have bought a number of radiator from them over the years and have always been satisfied.

Have you checked your favorite local parts house. I just searched Advanced Auto because they are local for me. They list 20 from $90.00 & up. A standard 3 row is all you need in these trucks.

Where do you guys do your looking? You can buy a 50 row if you like but 3 is all you need in one of these trucks.

This is the radiator I am using. Haven't fired my motor up for first time yet but recently installed it and the radiator bolted right onto stock core support. No modification. Probably the best $300 spent on my project. LOL. Hoses went right on. Trans cooler lines needed a male/male (pipe thread/flare) to go in. I highly recommend this radiator and seller. Radiator came fast. Here's what it looks like in truck.

Are there any issues to be aware of when replacing a brass radiator with aluminum regarding coolant type? Antifreeze or coolant has a lot of corrosion inhibitors but wondering if that big ole chunk of Alcoa needs something different than good ole green stuff?
