Looks like a good one. I like the wheels. Maybe some rust over the rear wheel wells,? No surprises if so. Depending on what you paid for it, it should serve you well.

You might want to put new bushings in the manual shifter if there's any slop in it. Only about $26 in parts.

I recommend changing every fluid you can. Change the transmission fluid, the M5OD shifts better when the fluid is clean/fresh, and people are known for not changing manual transmission fluid.

She should serve you well, I hope she does!

It wouldn't be an OBS without it.

Good idea.

Eventually I may put a small lift on it but I'd wait until the current tires are worn out so they don't go to waste...
Nice paint is definitely a plus. And I agree on the bug deflector. I always thought the '87 - '97 Ford trucks looked a little like a slightly melted ice cube with the corners rounding off (although I think the '92 face lift helped). But I got my '95 with a bug deflector and I thought it helped square it up a little bit.

As far as the "4x4" stickers, I always made fun of the late '80s Ch*vy trucks that had such an identity crisis that they needed to tell everyone that they were 4x4s. And then Ford had to copy them. If you were lucky enough to have a PO take them off I'd suggest you just count your blessings. But that's just me.

I don't know if I liked that post very much.

She's a beauty

By far my favorite rim style. Just picked up some 33s for my 95 4x4 last month on that same rim style.

As for advice..

It may sound very straightforward but, give EVERYTHING a real close look. Anything out of place? Anything look or sound funny? That I6 will treat you good if you return the favor!

I'm hoping the last line in your sig meant you were open to some jabbing as well. If you took it in the spirit intended, then you're welcome! But if it came across differently I apologize.

No, in fact I'm a tender, sensitive guy.

Sound advice indeed.

I've heard the 300 was a rock solid engine, it better be because it sounds like a tractor.

Take a good look at the clutch hydraulics. Make sure they are not leaking too bad and when you drive it make sure the clutch works good. It is a pain to replace the slave cylinder. I did, but I expected to do some of it for a 600 dollar truck. I just didn't know how much of a pain it was.

I'm having some issues with the trans. Nothing major, but a few things that seem like typical M5OD shenanigans.

It doesn't like to take certain gears at certain speeds. For example, I typically start in 2nd but when I do start in 1st, it does not take 2nd. Essentially if I'm going over 5 mph 2nd just doesn't take, so I just go straight to 3rd, not a big deal with everyday driving but annoying and worrying nonetheless.

Sometimes it doesn't take 3rd either, which is incredibly annoying because that means I basically have to come to a complete stop and start all over(luckily this hasn't happened on a highway ramp yet).

The funny thing is, I can find every gear perfectly fine when I'm at a complete stop. I've heard of these issues being cause by bushings, forks, syncros, anybody have any definitive idea based on these symptoms? Should I just junk this POS and swap in a ZF5?
