1997 f150 stuck on defrost vent
I know there is another thread on this subject and I read over it, but I didn't see any cracked lines like the others.
I unplugged the line from where it enters the firewall and heard the pressure/vacum release so I am thinking it is under my dash somewhere.
The red vacum line to the accuator that lifts the lever for the vents and it doesn't get any vacum what so ever at that point.
There is a small cylinder shaped object that has 2 other vacum lines going into it and when I move it, it seems to leak, but I don't want to just go out buying all the parts through the system till I find the right one anyone have any ideas on more detailed trouble shooting?

If you have a vacuum leak in any of the hoses underneath the dash you will hear the leak. So if you don't hear anything, change out the vacuum control on the back of the temp selector panel. I had to change mine on my '96 f250, it was leaking and I could hear it after I shut the motor off and sat in the quiet cab a second. they aren't that expensive.
