Thanks Shane.

Yeah, nobody knew anything about it until after Truckstock. No way to spend a vacation, but luckily Harrisonburg has a great newer hospital with an excellent, friendly staff. Had this happened somewhere along our trip TO Tennessee, it might have been a totally different story.

I haven't finalized the route going home yet. Since we have to take our time instead of my normal get-there-quick modus operandi, we may try to see some sights going back.

We're supposed to stop every hour or two to stretch and walk for 15 minutes. Since the car gets 650 - 700 miles on a tank of gas, I was less likely to stop for hours on end.

The vascular surgeon said that might be what caused the second DVT to form. So, my long haul days are over.

Thank you Ray.

I haven't had much time for the past couple of weeks to get on FTE, so I don't know what I've missed.

I just wanted to update the thread for all the folks we met at Truckstock who might have noticed old blabbermouth disappeared.

Well, if you decide to take a more northern route and head through Missouri, you have free room and board here.
I even have a spare bedroom since Elizabeth is in college.

We haven't decided on the route yet, but thanks for the invitation.

Thanks Ben,

We're still not decided on the return route as yet, but we really appreciate the offer.

Thanks Abe.

Although we haven't yet determined our exact route home, I can say with a fair amount of certainty that we will not be going through Pennsylvania.

Stranger things have happened. Bob's F-2 passed through Harlan, KY on the way to my place one time. That was quite an accomplishment.

So for a little closure... I think Kathy and I are the last two Truckstock 2015 participants to make it home.

We arrived home today at about 2:30 pm. We left Virginia last Thursday about 10:00 am. So eight days and 2,550 miles later, we're home.

That's about 4 weeks after everyone else, I guess. But we are really looking forward to sleeping in our own bed tonight.

We took I81 to I40 and I15 to I215. Since we had to stop every 1 to 2 hours for Kathy to walk for 15 minutes, I decided to do it over 8 days since I was doing all the driving... and I am getting old.

We stopped overnight in Bristol TN, Jackson TN, Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque, Kingman AZ. I can't name the rest stops and truck stops and restaurants where we walked for 15 minutes.

But we're home, and the blabbermouth is back online. I see I have about 15 pages of FTE to catch up on. That ain't gonna happen.
