Ross, that is awesome that your truck performed so well on such a long trip again, good MPG's, very little oil, no overheating. A true testament to the reliability of these trucks and your mechanical skills!
I bet you got a lot of thumbs up and waves on your trip.
Did you do a lot of interstate or freeway driving?

Thanks Abe, I ended up doing a LOT of interstate driving. Not my first choice but there are very few good E - W routes across Arkansas/Oklahoma/Texas panhandle. I would say 3/4 of the trip was on I-40 and I-44. Fortunately most of the traffic was going East (lots of semi's) on the return trip.
On the NM part of I-40, I came over a hill to find the eastbound lanes completely shut down, ambulances and fire trucks all over the place, and three Life Guard helicopters on the road to take away the injured. A semi was passing me at that point and he came over into my lane about 3 feet, because he was eyeballing the scene I guess. Not pleasant! Traffic was backed up 10 miles behind the accident.

Truckstock 2015 is in the books. Everyone (except Jolly Roger Joe) has made it home and the dust has settled. Patti and I would like to THANK each and every person that attended for sharing your weekend with us. I am not sure if this was the largest attended Truckstock/Truckfest so far, but it appears that the folks who did attend enjoyed it.
Here is the summary of attendance.
15 - 1948-56 FTE members (1 other FTE members stopped by)
10 - Trucks = Doc's Dad's Shoebox
35 people attended.

Virginia is beautiful this time of year...
As some of you may remember, Kathy and I intended to visit with our daughter in Virginia for 9 days after Truckstock and go on to Kentucky and Iowa to visit other relatives before returning home three days from now.
Well friends, we're still in VA. I took Kathy to the hospital 4 days after saying farewell to you all at Fall Creek Falls and she was just released yesterday. With the needed physical therapy and elimination of other complications, we may be leaving here after 10/21. And maybe not that soon.
Wish us luck, and I hope to be reporting our lengthened return trip before Halloween. We'll need to limit travel days to under 380 miles per day, so that'll take us 7 days to get home.

Thanks Ben. She had another DVT (deep vein thrombosis) which is a life-threatening blood clot in her left leg. It's her second one in 20 years in the same leg. The first was caused by a skiing accident. The doctors think this one was from sitting too long in the car on our trip across country.
