Ok boys and girls, I'm going to start a fun educational thread... I am going to post a word, and it will be our word of the day (hence the name of the thread...) then every day someone can post a new word. If you can use the word in normal conversation throughout the day you get a point, and whoever gets the most points wins(no one is actually going to keep up with points, and you aren't going to win anything)...

Reconnoiter, and I actually used it yesterday in a normal conversation with my wife.
I had to reconnoiter the bird fields prior to hunting the following day.

Then, starting in the 1970s, it was changed to the 'Operations Directorate'. The 2000s saw a resurgence in the usage, and ultimately another name change, back to 'Clandestine Services'; in keeping with the 'secret' intelligence gathering of the Agency.

I made up "automagically" when something happens without any reason.

My wife says I have a "markctionary" but if it makes sense use it.

 

Scriplins when denoting cash. I`m short of scriplins to buy beer
