Sure thing, ruger761. If there's anything I can help with in the future, you know where to find me. I'm always happy to try.

Makes you miss the old trucks where the evap coil came out through the engine compartment or even in my fox body mustangs where you could drop them down without removing the steering wheel (or that area of the dash). You just had to loosen the dash bolts up a bit and you could sneak it out.

The older trucks were so much easier on most of the stuff and typically cheaper to work on, but I sure do like the power of the new ones. You would think evap coil and heater core they would have made a nice way of changing those out vs making them even harder to change out

I agree with you statement ruger761 - but this all plays into Ford wanting you to buy an extended warranty and trading out sooner than you normally would.

Dealers like it because they obviously make more money...

My philosophy is exactly what Ford wants to hear and that is, I generally don't keep a vehicle past a manufacturer extended warranty. Because a simple failure is still over a $1k to fix and sometimes the failures are multiple $1,000's to fix. I'd rather buy and drive new...

BTW - I am not just picking on Ford- they ALL do this.

Very true they all do it and do it well. Plus like you say a lot of peope trade off around 34K and get a new one so they dont every worry about it or they by the expensive warranty and keep it a bit longer then trade it off. Either way dealers make a lot of money off service or warranties

Same, I'd like to run mine into the ground, and for the price, I should be able to.

Between the A/C repair last month and the Turbo replacement it added up to $5000 plus $700 truck payment..$5700 into it. Pretty disturbing.
