97 Diesel F250 is lurching during drive

Hi, I posted incorrectly in the new member place and I am really sorry. I hope I am not doing it again by clicking on new thread. My dad's truck is lurching (the best way to describe it) during a drive and my dad thinks it's the Idle Control Valve. I have been searching for hours online where to find it on the motor with no luck. He can buy the part at NAPA but they cannot tell him where it is located to replace. Two questions: 1) where is the ICV and 2) does this sound correct?

this is one of those questions where i think you will get better advice down in the 94.5 to 97 powestroke diesel forum.
i will ask one of the moderators here to move this thread over there.

No idle control valve on a diesel. You have a running issue.
First thing is pull each connector apart at the valve cover connections.
Look for burned pins and connectors. Get back with your results.

And welcome to FTE!
