Question antifreeze on 2004 ford escaspe

besides ford antifreeze which other brands of antifreezes would be most recommended to use

Anything green at the parts store or Walmart.

This depend on what antifreeze you currently have in the car. If it looks like its kinda light greenish yellow then you should use ford gold coolant or G05 (same thing as gold) coolant. I can't remember if they had changed over to the gold coolant in 04', but i just changed the coolant in my 05' with G05 spec coolant. Are you flushing the coolant or just adding some?

Peak global lifetime gold would meet Ford recommendations if your truck came with the gold antifreeze. You can get it at some NAPA stores at a lower cost than the Ford or Zerex GO5. From what I read, it is 'lifetime' coolant, and is good for 100k or more.
At some point FoMoCo switched from green to gold. Gold can be used where green was originally installed if the system is flushed. I don't know if it can be added to existing 'green'.

I bought the gold form Ford wasn't that much more the part store price. My 01 has gold Coolant.
