Enjoy it while it lasts because CA's left-wing dimwits passed a 'cap and trade gas tax' which will go into effect on January 1, 2015.

Hey, diesel here is $3.59. Better then the $4.10 it was before, even though it should be cheaper then gasoline.

Sure we are. But OPEC dropped the market price of oil so US drillers make less or no money on each barrel they pull out of the ground. If companies can't make any profits, there is no reason to pull oil and gas out out of shale formations and oil sands. They're not gonna do it out of the goodness of their hearts... it's a business.

Add the global warming/climate change hysteria with left-wingers who believe most anything they are told and they pass/adopt legislation to offset carbon emissions... one of the solutions is a tax on every gallon of gasoline based on the EPA's classification that Co2 is a "pollutant". An in CA, pollution generation is "monetized". Meaning, you earn credits by lowering Co2 before certain time thresholds and then you can sell (trade) that credit to another company that has yet to reduce emissions.

Hmmm... no. Actually I think you mean credit Obama for the lower gas prices... Although Obama has nothing (Keystone Pipeline) to promote domestic petroleum production or supply, he is not to directly responsible for lower prices. It's the drillers and their technology (fracking & horizontal drilling on private lands) that has made it profitable at a certain price to produce domestic petroleum. Reduce or eliminate the profit margin and it's "not worth it" to pull it out of the ground. If there is any 'blame" on Obama, it is his and the EPA's decrees and regulations on the coal industry that are killing that energy source. One time he stated that the regulations do not effectively banning new coal plants, but "you'll go broke building one".

It's related cuz we have to feed our thirsty trucks. It is important to understand WHY the price of gasoline has dropped... not merely knowing what the price is.

Moving on....

We can not really control the price of gas, but we can control the MPG we get from our trucks. That is the thread I am looking out for, that's all.....

I don't want to control the MPG my truck gets. I bought it with the full knowledge that I will get 11 mpg loaded or not! Maybe I should have said I get to drive my DENT around more to deserve being in this section.

I still can't justify running my FE around when I have a 4BT that runs on 75% WMO and 25% #1 (its getting cold).
