Best remote start for a 2005?

Who's making the best 2 way remote start systems now?

I don't have a chip in my key, but I do have remote key fobs.

I want to be able to retain my keypad on the door.

I don't have an alarm, nor do I want one.

Thanks!

I did some reading and it seems people are against Viper now they have been sold a few times. I've been reading good stuff about compustar, I'm still researching.

Mine came with a viper installed when I bought it. I still use the keypad on the door. It has never failed me. It is not a two way setup tho. Just a very basic unlock lock start and panic.

Ive had both. I thought the viper had better reaction and longer range. Though the viper was eating remotes. They would simply stop working. $90 ea from Viper $30 online. It was an 08 model. Thats likely improved? Haven't had the compustar long enough to comment on that part. So far the compustar is OK. Only had it 5 months.

Best would be the wife or girlfriend.
They warm the truck up and come
back and warm you up.

Bummer about Viper. I was thinking about that for an alarm.

Dont rule them out yet. One would hope with how fast electronic technology moves today that that problems resolved. That is nearly seven years of forward progress(hopefully). At the end I had replaced two remotes over a 4 year period. Granted I'm tough on them.
If I was looking today Id still consider Viper. Though Id do some homework on the remote durability issue for sure.

Shoooot... my wife is long gone to work by the time I load up the kids and haul them to daycare. The remote start is so I don't have to hear "Daddy, I'm cold." every morning and the heat comes on 5 minutes before I get there.

Viper Smart Start. Does it all from your cell phone. No complaints with it, most important thing is a quality install.

I used the compustar 2 way start/alarm on my current and last truck and I'll use on my next truck, no complaints and great distance.
