AOD Buzzing from the TV shaft.

My aod will buzz from the TV shaft sometimes when idling. In gear or In park. I know it's coming from the shaft, I crawled underneath and felt around. When I move it, (increasing pressure) it goes away.

Everything runs fine, just annoys me having an abnormal sound.

What the heck is happening?

Check your line pressure. Put the gauge on the test port, it should show a couple psi minimum at idle in neutral.

Now put it it drive and mash the brakes. Give it just a bit of throttle and as you do that you want to eyeball the gauge and make sure line pressure comes up right away, as soon as the throttle moves.

Also it seems that Ford redesigned the valve body gaskets sometime in the early 90's to fix a buzzing problem. Is this trans original?

It's an 89 case rebuilt a few months ago by AAMCO. It's in my 71 F100.

Oh no... not AAMCO :/ They are not especially known for doing quality work but whatever.

I still say check your line pressure.

Yea I'm not pleased with their service. I only went cuz they are real close to me. I got a whole new rebuilt AOD for $600. With 12/12 warranty.

Soon as the warranty is up I'm slapping a Trans-go valve body kit in it.

And that Trans-Go VB will probably take care of the buzz. Screw it, I'd just do it now lol. But that's just me...

I'm trying to see if it's gonna pop while its under warranty. I haven't been being nice or easy on it. So far it's doing ok besides slow shifting under WOT.
