Hi everyone. Today is the last "official" day before the Thanksgiving break at Boise State University. I don't have classes on Friday's, so I'm "officially" on break, and no one can stop me. Bwahaha.

I need to do some garage cleaning so I can park my wife's car in there and replace the rear brakes. Temperature was all the way up to upper-20's to lower-30's yesterday. I was thinking I could replace the brakes wearing jeans and a T-Shirt, but there's a storm coming in this weekend. Oh well. Snow suit, mukluks, and heavy gloves it is when doing the brake job.

Howdy Craig! Enjoy your break, bud, and good luck with the wife's brakes. Hopefully the weather won't be too bad.

Hi everyone. I managed to finish up another paper for my University Foundations class today. Emailed it to the professor earlier today, so that officially makes it official that I am "officially" on break as of today. Because of the paper, I didn't do any work in the garage. It's been a cold, wet day, so being inside working on the paper, and playing with my dog , seemed like a good idea.

I installed the new timer for the clothes washer, too. The shipping box arrived undamaged, but the part box the timer was packed in had some damage. When I opened it, I found the locking tab was broken off. Just my luck, right? Well, I took some pictures, managed to make it work so we have a functioning clothes washer again (no more laundromat trips for the ladies), and sent an email to the parts place.

I have no idea what they'll do, if anything, but this is the first time in several years of doing business with them that I received a damaged item.

Good morning Idaho, hope you had a great weekend! Craig, sucks about the broken part, hopefully they'll do you right, and shoot you another one!

I hope so, too, Pat. They've always been good to me in the past. This is the first time I received less-than-excellent service from them.

On a happy note, I replaced the rear brake pads on my wife's Camry Hybrid yesterday in preparation for the trip to pickup my youngest from Easter Oregon University tomorrow. I don't have a service manual for her car, and that worried me. I always like to read up on the procedure before attempting a repair. As it turns out, it wasn't necessary. Toyota got this part right. It was the easiest brake pad swap I've ever done on any vehicle. It took more time to jack up the car and remove the wheel assemblies than it did to swap out the brake pads. I hope the front brake pads will be as easy as the rear. The front pads don't need to be replaced yet, but the rears were definitely not going to last for the trip to Oregon. Now we just need to get some tire chains for the trip, just in case.

Good morning Idaho, happy Tuesday!

Craig, good to hear, about the brakes. Not often a manufacturer makes maintenance easy!
