KC Daylighters and wiring problem

I have a 99 f350 and I'm trying to install the mentioned lights. Following directions everything seems pretty easy and strait forward. There is a white wire that has a 3 fuse. The instructions say that it can be connected to my highbeams but then i will have to use brights with my KC lights or I can connect to the battery or other 12 volt sources and use the lights independent of my high beams . I have connected to the battery but the fuse keeps blowing. I have checked all the connections and all seems good. Can some one help me? If I have to connect to my high beams can someone tell me how to do that? I was really wanting to get it done this weekend.

If my switch is bad can I buy any 3 prong switch and use it instead of the one provided by KC?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Gilbert

"There is a white wire that has a 3 fuse"

What is a "3 fuse"?

There can be only two reasons a fuse blows.

1. Short to ground / no resistance.
2. More amperage draw than allowable

Sorry. The fuse has a 3 on it. (3 amp?) I was hoping some one had gone through the same problem and figured it out.

What is the other wire going to the light hooked to?

It sounds like this is a harness with a relay...Assuming you have 2 wires going to the lights one hooked to battery and the other ground, and this wire should be hooked to the relay to "switch" the contacts. Tough to know for sure without knowing what other wiring you have.

This sounds correct. Did you receive a 4 or 5 pin relay with the system?
