I understand how it works.. I think the PT wires are too small to carry any reasonable load, so I use them to control relays that manage the power load.

Nonsense. They are fine to power an LED light bar. Stop over-thinking things and making work for yourself.

Guys, these Upfitter Switches have relays built into them already that's why they have amp ratings for each one. IIRC, its all in the install instructions.
fixed!

Here's my right up of what I did.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...s-of-pics.html

I just used a piece of aluminum angle iron I bought at lowes and uses the 2 holes in the bumper space to attach it. It was a tight fit but worked out perfect. I attached the lights with the brackets that came with the lights. If you have any other questions let me know.

bar is in, and hooked to upfitter..

how did you get to the high beam wire? have to pull the housing?

edit: yes.. see EpicCowlick's youtube video

That's what I"m using, plus Rigid in the fogs, and a 30" single row in the upper grill, plenty of light for the dark roads where I live.

That's exactly what I plan to do as well! Did the single row fit snug in the upper grille space? Maybe some pictures would do justice..

On the side of dually fogs, why optics do you have? I planned to get the driving style but as mentioned before in this thread, people are suggesting the spots..

Can I get lights like yours mounted on the angle iron that will project ahead of the oem high beams? I drive rural roads that are black at night and drive at 55 mph or so. Don't want to hit a Moose Ha. But I need something to light up better then the High Beams OEM Ford has. I don't want to spend $$$ for lights up closer. Years ago I had Lucas driving (spot type) that were great for ahead. Not in curves so much but still what I'd like. I think.

I have the same environment.. I just installed a bar. $65 + relay and wire connectors.

this is a flood/spot combo. I might go all spot if I were doing it over again.

So is the spot bar what I need? to project way ahead only? if so do you think it would do what I wanted?

I get a LOT of improvement both near and far with the combo bar.
but I get more near improvement than I need I think. the stock brights are pretty good for near (my bar turns on/off with the brights).
I saw deer last night that I wouldn't have been able to see before. (further ahead)

this bar is 8 (2x4) flood leds on each side and 24 (2x12) spot in the middle. (you can see the different bulbs in the bar picture, the shiny ones in the middle are spot,
the duller ones on each side are the flood)

I'll try to take some pics tonight.. low/bright/bright with bar.

I was able to take some pics tonight..
looking towards my back lot line, fence at 285ft, the tree line at the edge of the property is another 320 ft beyond the fence.. so 605ft.

phone resting on steering wheel
low beams (with fogs on)
brights
brights with light bar
and an areal view
red circle is truck, red line is back lot line (you can see the shadows of the 3 telephone poles)
