Bonus in my STC kit

So since I'm the engine almost done with my egr delete I thought why not do the STC since it is fairly cheap as far as parts go. In the bag is a set of o rings and a screen for the IPR. I was going to take this off also to look at as I have no idea if it is original. I do know that the previous owner had to have a high pressure oil pump put in since I was able to pull the service history before I bought the truck. But that was at least 50k ago.

Is there any need to consider replacing the IPR still since I have this screen kit for it? I'd like to think I can save 225 by doing the new screen and o rings.
I was only considering it since it would be easy right now and I do have some hard starts.

Every ipr failure I have personally seen is from the screen failing and getting stuck in the ipr.

I'm pretty sure all STC fitting kits come with the IPR screen and o rings, at least mine and a friends did last year.

I wouldn't consider replacing the IPR unless there was a known problem with it.

Do you know the reason for your hard starts?

I was not expecting to get the screen with the STC, hadn't seen anyone else ever mention it. No known reason for hard starts, and its maybe half the time. Sometimes it will fire right up others it will take what seems to be a little too long (10-15) sec. Also it does this cold or hot, but does start better hot. Really just wanted to eliminate these hard to get to items before putting the truck back together. I can investigate something like dummy plugs later.

Replace the screen and o-rings why not?

When I did my turbo in my truck I pulled the IPR and the screen was damaged I replace the screen only and never had any issues
