Less headache, lesser performance as well compared to long tubes.

Tried again with the pics resized. These are Hooker Competition headers on a '70 in a '68 with a manual 3-speed with overdrive from an '87 F150. No interference issues with the 302. Judge for yourself if you think they would work on a 351W.

I have a fresh 351w in the garage because I couldn't work the exhaust out on my '69. I have a 302 in it with long tube headers and everything clears fine. I have a manual with the 11" flywheel and with the 351W the long tube headers do not clear the bell housing. I have a friend at the speed shop and he let me try several brands for the 302 in a 69/70. None cleared.

I also tried a set of shorty headers for a 351W and the left side was pointing at the clutch pivot arm. If you have an automatic or the smaller bell housing manual one of these options would work. For the 11" I don't see an out of the box answer.

I ended up getting a sweet deal on Ebay for 86-93 shorty SBF ceramic coated shorties. They are a factory second for some reason but look just fine for $148 including gaskets and bolts.
EDIT: These didn't work for me. (68 with 351W and 77 power steering) The passenger side fit but drivers side hit the steering box. Might work for a manual steering truck though?)

What is the part number for those headers?

There may be something new but from lengthy discussions on Fordification a few years back, the general consensus was just what Red69 said, none of the 302 headers will work.

I have Hedman headers on my 351w C6. They need a little twicking to fit.Around the gear box I think I had to dent 1 or 2 tubes in a little. On the pass. side A little radius on the top of the frame and a jack handle in the end tubes to bend it out from the bell housing. For the cross member Hedman sells a 3 inch drop pipe so you can go over crossmember. Tucks up nice and tight.

Although they may not fit the 351w. It'll fit the heads, but its wider and taller so you may have issues. I've had good experiences with their return policy. Don't damage them and they'll take them back.

Thanks Ozark.
Ive been looking at these lately, they are made to fit in the tighter engine compartment of a mustang so if they are anything like what is pictured they look like they would work. Im looking for at least 1 3/4 primary tubes.

A.I have a set of shorties for 86-93 5.0 Mustang (on left). It works well on the passenger side but won't fit on the drivers because of the ps box. (have bump ps conversion).
B. I have a set of 64-70 Mustang SBF (on right.) Great clearance on drivers side, really nice fit, but passenger side points halfway into the frame. Would you mix and match?

(reminder I have 68 with bump ps conversion, 351W, C4)

I used long tube headers for a 71 mustang on my Cleveland. They fit pretty good, but they did require some frame mods to make work.

I'm wondering if it would be a no-no to mix these two, seeing as each one fits nicely on their respective sides. This truck is not a racer and won't be doing any long full throttle runs.
