Hello. Sort of new here. Had an account a few years back. Anyways, i just picked up a complete 66 F500 for $450. It has the 330 and 4 speed. It will be my daily driver after winter. One problem im having right now is i cant find ANYTHING for the 330. Ive been searching ever since i bought it a week ago but all I found was an oil pump. If anyone could point me in the right direction, id really appreciate it.

 

If i cant find the proper engine parts, then could someone suggest a good, heavy-duty power plant to swap in? Im talking about swapping the engine, trans, and rear end. I want to go with diesel (if i cant stick with original) but ive never worked with diesel before

 

Your FT 330 is almost identical to any FE motor. A big FE would solve your problem for a lot less than a different swap.

Welcome to FTE

There are two different 330 2V FT engines. The 330 2V Medium Duty uses the same oil pump (C8AZ-6600-A) as an FE engine, so it's EZ to find.

The 330 2V Heavy Duty uses a different oil pump (C9TZ-6600-A) that is also specific to 361 2V & 391 4V FT engines.

Which 330 2V FT engine do you have and what else do you need besides an oil pump?

btw: If you're thinking of swapping in an FE engine, be aware that they use a completely different engine mounting system than an FT.

 

I believe mine is the Medium Duty engine. If i had it here, id go check to be sure. Right now, i just want to get it running. It needs new plugs, points, and cap (as far as i know). Truthfully, i really dont want this engine at all considering i have to order every part for it but its something ill work with until i can afford a new engine
