I have finished with the steering column portion of my Ford power steering upgrade on my '66. This version uses a 1973 Column from a F-350.
What I did was to drill the 4 spot welds out of the '73 column mounting bracket.
Instead of robbing the new bracket off a perfectly good column that is currently on my '66 and re welding it onto the '73 column I got a 1966 Mustang bracket from The Mustang Ranch in Eatonville, WA. (they have a crapload of these brackets)
This bracket is 2 piece. lower is pictured. the Upper isn't in the picture.
Once the tube is installed in the proper location, take the lower bracket and put on the mounting bolts and you wil note there is a tab on the lower bracket. mark where the tab will sit on the tube. take the mounting bracket back off and drill a small hole in the tube. put the bracket back on and tighten the nuts down and there you have it. a no weld solution to your upgrade.
