banging sound on start stops after about a minute

so the other day I had a shop replace the rediator and fan belt in my 1991 Full size bronco - 351 W auto.
I was getting a little gugle sound so the next moring I went to add some water and noticed a little slapping/knock sound
but it stoped shortly after.

that night when the truck was cold again - it made the same sound.
I checked the belt think ing it was shreeding again
but felt nothing.
the sound was at a pace of the fan belt. like it had a spot on the belt slapping something.
i checked everything I could think of
the pwer sterring was low
now its high.
I stopped by the shop and they pulled the belt off
we found nothing
I did notice a little grease on the belt tensioner
after they put the belt back on
it now SQEEEEELED
I get some belt ease
its better
but this morning
Still got the slapping sound.
ANY IDEAS????

I thought the sound was being produced when you stopped or started moving. Is it engine related then? have you actually tried the pulleys to see if there is play to any of them? the rear bearing of the alternator will also scream bloody murder when it's about to fail completely.

My a/c clutched squealed quite loudly before smoking me out. They replaced the radiator, check the fan shroud to see if it's all scuffed up. Maybe something got tangled on a fan blade?

so its sort of a long story and its NOT over yet.
last year
my water pump went out
got it replaced
2 days later my fan belt shredded.
the shop said well the alternator has too much play... new alternator
a day or two later... another fan belt
replaced the belt again
replced the tensioner and the belt
the shop ran out of belts.... seriously, I went thru that many belts.
well it was the harmonic balancer.....
BUT ever since
it still wants to jump off the front.....
the banging
the belt jumping on and off
I pulled the belt and reversed it
no more noise... but it still is pushing to front of the lower pulley. Tonight they are going to look at the Power steering pulley as its a little to far forward about 1/2 a groove wide. thye are going to check it and see if we can make any adjustments. this truck is driving me nuts....

ok - it is fixed now
the final result was the power steering pulley was about 1/2 inch to far forward
got it moved back and now everything is OK
