Almost 60,000 miles. I never replaced the fitting, nore do I see it in the file for that truck, I should mention they were in a hurry to get back, bad rain and towing about 25,000 lb low boy.

Sounds like the STC fitting is leaking. Air test the system to be sure. Hopefully it didn't crack the rear cover.

STC isn't terrible to do. Pull the turbo, mount and I think some guys can squeak the HPOP cover out without removing the intake manifold. Removing the manifold isn't a big deal IMO if you can't.

I replaced mine when I did the EGR delete so the intake manifold was off already.

The STC fitting is attached to the rear of the HPOP and connects the the branch tubes. I'll go grab a pic of my old one in a bit.

I see kind of getting my memory back when I did a delete kit and a oil cooler for a customer, oil cooler was a just in case type thing that's what really stuck in my mind, the driver also told me he had a couple of cut outs but always restarted, this is the first I'm hearing of this, just shut off like he turned the key maybe once a week or less, but did it a couple of times. May not be related So that sounds about right then, gotta get the fitting to pressure test first, called snapon he don't carry it so I have the link you sent me and I have to order it. Thanks for all the help!!!

As stated, the STC is not a bad job. If you can get the HPOP cover off without removing the intake, its a really easy job.

I've never done and STC (I have an 04 that does not have that fitting), but most say when you pop the cover off the HPOP, its pretty obvious that its failed. So, you could pop the cover and take a look before the fittings arrive. Plus, you can air test without the HPOP cover on.

Check the rear cover for cracks. If that cracked you are dicked. Time to pull the transmission and replace the rear cover. The seal installer tool isn't terribly cheap if I recall.
