I see this was brought back up again.
No, this was not a troll thread. I had an honest concern as to why this engine felt sluggish in the 3 trucks I test drove. And thanks to this thread, it seems like there is room for improvement in the DBW setup, and the transmissions learning curve (which I think they should do away with. Set it up to work one way and leave it at that).
I had the papers on the dealers desk ready to sign. They didn't have a concrete price, so I told them to email me when they did. That took about a week, and in that time, I thought the better idea would be to try to buy a house instead of a vehicle. After 4 months of house searching...I'm starting to realize that I might get in over my head financially with a house (single income). There may be a SD in my future yet

With up to $5,500 in rebates right now, plus coming up on end of the model year with 2016 going to be no to little change. Then add in the look of the new to be early released 2017 body style this may be a great time to 6.2 Superduty purchase. I would not hesitate to purchase a new 6.2.
After seeing some of the pictures of the possible 2017 Model, I'm glad I bought my 2015. And, I am very happy with the power of my 6.2 after owning an '08 6.4 Diesel for five years... very impressed. I carry a 3000+ pound slide in truck camper and the 6.2 does fine! As a DD, it has plenty of pep too!

Looked at the 2017 picture a number of times.... it hasn't grown on me .... best I can come up with is "Meh". Doesn't say "powerful" to me. Also sort of looks "chevy-ish"

I won't make judgment on the new body until I see one in person. I've owned a lot of Ford trucks over the years and some I liked the body styling and some not so much but most were work trucks so they were a tool to make a living with. When we stop traveling so much I may try and find a short box dent side to fix up because I really like that body style.

I don't think the 6.2L is as turdly as some make it out to be.
Here's some vids comparing the 6.2L to some other Ford trucks towing 15,000lbs up hill.
(2011 6.2L V-8)
(2008 6.8L V-10 3v)
(2000 V-10 2v)
As you can see, the 6.2L handily outperformed both V-10 engines. The old 2v V-10 could barley even get the load moving. Granted I think this also shows how much difference's is made when you start adding gears to the transmission. 4-Speed, 5-Speed and 6-Speed's are all represented here as well.
