My mild '93 4x4 build.

And it begins.....

Pictures will follow as soon as I can figure out why photo bucket won't upload them.

Truck:
Rusty 1993 F150 extended cab 4x4. 5.0 with AODE. Factory 4.10 gear in the rear 8.8 ( I guess 4.09 in the D44 TTB in the front).

My wife and I bought this truck a couple years ago. I paid too much for it. Not drastically, just enough to **** me off after I started cleaning and digging into it. Anyway, that's water under the bridge and now I'm working with what I have.

We bought this truck because, well, we didn't have a truck. We use it to haul off trash and yard waist, get stufg from the home improvement store....blah blah blah...truck stuff. Going forward with this truck reliability is the top goal. The truck has to work so no 8" lift with 38" swampers. It might be nice but towing a trailer or loading and unloading stuff in the bed is a piano in the backside. I will do a couple performance upgrades but these will be things that will mostly help the truck work better.

Current plans:
Full suspension rebuild with 2 1/2" lift kit. I'm hunting a pair of extended radius arms for it but I may end up building my own.
New full dual exhaust. I've got shorty headers, 2 1/2" chambered muflers, and a few bends in the garage for it. I'm going to have the exhaust exit in front on the right rear tire.
The cab corners need to be replaced. I might try that myself but I've got a good price on a labor estimate to have them done from a local body guy.
Speedometer repair. I've got to pull the guages out and I've found a place on the web that rebuilds the speedometer and checks/repairs other issues with these year clusters.

There's other stuff but I'll get into them as I get to them. Mostly cleaning and tlc.

Like I said, pictures will follow soon.

Thanks

Not much accomplished today. Cold and rainy outside so the motivation to get hard after it is waining. Last Saturday I got the rear ready to come out. Got held up by very rusted spring shackle bolts. Soaked them all week with PB Blaster, still stuck. I don't have a flame wrench so it looks like I'll be using the grinder to get them off but since it's been raining off and on it won't be today.

Spent a little time cleaning a couple parts.

Grind
