1937 new project
my new project ! 37 pickup 351w c4 mustang 2 , 9" rear on split wishbone & transverse leaf.
Hi guys , have a new project arriving soon from your part of the world, ie Wisconsin usa, an old rebuild now needing a new lease of life !, has 351w mustang 2 front, ALL FORD ! need to ask a few ?? it has no hood & a 35-36 grill, does a hood from a 37 fit to this grill ? also what would be the widest wheel size you can fit , backspace ? have a set of tires ie coker 165r15 , 235 75 15 w/walls, any help much appreciated, Kev UK

Although you don't mention the specific rear-end utilized in your p-up, the "big-n- littles" you have fit nicely within the confines of mid-30s fenders for both cars & smaller trucks; will also give a mild "rubber rake". (I'm running the same on my '36 coupe).
The issue will be the width of your axles and how close they are to the original ones. If very close, you can generally use a 5-6" wide wheel on the front and
at least 7" on the rear. Realize, however, the key ingredient here is back-spacing. You will likely need to take a conservative approach or tire rub is a distinct possibility on the front when making sharp turns into driveways. Go too wide on the rear (and most later model axles are somewhat wider than stock)and you are guaranteed that funky 60's-70's look w/ tires sticking outside of the fenders. (I had to narrow the 9" p-up rear-end on the left side to center the diff. in the d-shaft tunnel and get the 75 series tires to fit (snugly) inside the fender lip.
Break out the tape measure and bribe a good buddy w/ beer and patience to help get you in the ball park.
