Did you check the source of that article?

Looks like a moonbat truther that finally has a spot on the internet to bloviate and pontificate.

I created World-Truth in September of 2011 and in time for the 10 year anniversary of the 9-11-01 Victims. I provide people who are curious and open minded with thought-provoking, educational, and sacred information that will definitely blow your mind, and unlock many others’ minds. It will allow you to see things from a totally different perspective. Some information is revealing, mind provoking but if you do your own research you will conclude for yourself that the information on this website is authentic. I show people what I have found from my research in the last 32 years and I want others to go and research on their own so they can come to their own conclusion. This blog serves the purpose of telling other people on a daily basis about the “sacred knowledge” that I have uncovered. WorldTruth.TV is a website dedicated to educating and informing people on regular basis with well-researched articles on powerful and concealed information. I’ve spent the last 32 years researching Theosophy, Freemasonry, Kabbalah, Rosicrucianism, the Bavarian Illuminati and Western Occultism. I remember when I first learned about the “Truth” and it wasn’t pretty. I remember learning about how the mass media lies to our faces consistently. About how the educational system only teaches the youth what they need to become obedient workers. About how politics are merely a puppet show and that, regardless of who is in office, the same Agenda will be going forward. About how our rights and freedoms are being revoked. About how the masses are purposely being dumbed-down. About how simple values are rejected from popular culture and replaced by shallow materialism and glorification of immediate fulfillment of impulses. This website does not aim to promote or to dismiss particular views, opinions or belief systems. It rather attempts to present in an objective manner the subjects at hand, using credible sources from different viewpoints.

In short, WorldTruth.TV offers alternative news, documentaries and more. We are presenting information which you will not find in the mainstream media. Find out what is really happening in the world today.

I figured you would have. Most other people wouldn't bother to check sources.

It's an interesting concept. I have been interested in
water injection since I first heard of it back in the late
60's. A Popular Mechanics article I believe it was. Where
Buick had put a box under the carb to atomize the fuel
and inject steam into the mix. They said they achieved
in excess of 100 MPG if I remember correct. The P51
Mustang and other WWII fighters used a water injection
to gain a bunch of power and speed for a short time as well
to help them get the enemy off there tail. But it brought the
engine temp up well over red line in short order and would
lock up the engine if left on for very long.
The VW sounds like it is actually running on steam where as
the WWII fighter was burning hydrogen and oxygen. Not sure
on that. But the concept has been around for a long while now.

Although the author here sounds like a doomsday type of
Naysayer I can see truth in what he writes.
Hopefully others will do some more looking around and post there
findings here as to weather this is for real.

Something has to heat that water to make the steam. There is no such thing as a free lunch. That energy has to come from somewhere.

false. i read about this a while ago. but everyone knows it has to be true, because it was posted on the internet.
there are only 200 being made, with a cost somewhere near $150,000
it is a diesel hybrid car.
also, the best mileage recorded to date was only 128 mpg, and that was achieved by using the batteries until they were almost dead.
so in reality, the diesel engine only gets around 50 MPG, the same as a properly tuned legal for US use VW diesel car

And in the words of Paul Harvey, "now you know the rest of the story".

You know what would be cool though?
Picture a 4 stroke diesel engine, but adjust the spray pattern a touch, to make sure as much fuel is in the bowl as possible.

Now picture a 2nd injector, but for water.

It would act as a 4 stroke engine, but under load, every 2nd injection could be water, and the flash steam from the water hitting the piston bowl would push the piston down.

Not as much heat would build up in the engine, because if it's hot enough, you would inject more water to capture that heat for free power. Running in diesel/water mode, you wouldn't be adding much heat to the engine, as you would be injecting water to recover the waste heat.
You would want to cool the exhaust, and recover the water vapor, and re-use it.

I don't see why we couldn't do this right now.

Engines are only 30-40 % efficient, the rest of the energy is wasted on exhaust heat and radiator.

The exhaust could be used to superheat the injection water before it is injected, so you could inject even more water for more energy capture from waste heat.

I bet this could get it over 50% efficiency .

You are probably saying great another radiator to cool exhaust down, but probably wouldn't need anything extra, because when recovering heat and water from exhaust, that means the water could be cooling down the combustion chambers, so a lot of the heat would be leaving the engine in the water, so the engine would not need near as much cooling as normal.
