Exclamation '03 E-250 cargo van Rear Brakes

Hello all!

I am going to replace the rear pads and rotors on my '03 e250 tomorrow but need a bit of info before I start.

1- Where are the recomended jacking and jackstand placement points to lift the rear of the van up. (front jacking points would be handy too as I will be getting to those before too much longer)

2- Any special procedure for dealing with the ABS? I was not going to disconnect the calipers, just do a quick change.

3- are the rotor retention clips necessary if so do I have to get them from the dealer? Anything else that needs to be new?

If there are links to the step by step procedure for this vehicle, that would be helpful, but essentially I think I know what needs to happen, HOWEVER if there is anything in particular I need to look out for, please let me know!

Cheers!

Richard

Very easy swap, jack it by the axle, chock the front wheels, do one side at a time, remove the caliper dont open the bleeder or disconnect the hose. yea they could have used longer brake hoses but they make it, just pry it off the rotor, press it in with channel locks, cut the rotor clips, throw away, you dont need to replace them, thats for the factory assembly line. Clean and lube the slides as they always get rusty and seize then reassemble. dont forget to pump the brakes up before shifting out of gear.

Thank you David!

Jack, I'm planning on using the high-temp grease I got for the backs of the pads to keep them from squealing.
