Military tires. whats true and what is not?
So i need to get some new tires for the Bomb as these 40s are just to ridiculous for driving around. I was looking at getting a set of military take offs 37 inch tires. there are a few options out there. the older Goodyear wrangler MTs wear like stone, wont stop in rain, and cost the least. I had these on my old bronco and while a good cheap tire. not the direction I want to go.
I am trying to decide between the 2 new types of military tires. The BFG Baja TA and the wrangler MT/R.
The Baja looks a little more aggressive but I have heard they are a harder rubber.
The MT/Rs cost a little more but seem like they would be more comfortable for road driving.
I have insane tires for off road that I will keep so these tires are more for around town and light off roading when i go hunting or to the farm. Ill swap to the 40s when i want to play in the mud.
Does anyone have any opinions on either of these tires? and if so do you know how they compare? I know there is a lot of info out there on these tires but half of it seems to contradict the other half so i figured i would ask a community that i trust. thanks,

So I called some military friends and got the word on these things.
BFG Baja VS BFG MT/R
Tire Wear- Baja tires are slightly softer which makes them a better choice for people towing or looking to use in daily driving for stopping in the rain. However, the MT/Rs will last a little longer.
Off Road- The MT/R have an extra layer of nylon in the sidewalls that stiffen them up and help prevent punctures. They are also better when aired down to 6psi for rock crawling. BFG side walls a a little thinner but provide a smoother better ride. The deeper and larger lugs are better for muddy terrain then the MT/R
